Is there one that is considered the 'best'? Or just more preferable to others?

Study biomechanics or kinesiology and actually learn something would be the best I assume.

Doesn't matter. The PT industry is full of frauds and phonies who all got their certs in 2 weeks from some random bull shit program that is a watered down version of an actual degree. They don't have any trouble finding jobs, as long as they are hot.

PT industry is all about being hot, and you can sell your "knowledge" to pretty much anybody.

You get in even easier if you're a hot woman.

As far as I can tell being a good personal trainer is basically being a good salesperson.

Yeah the school is more of a formality to hang on your wall to impress people, 99% of humans wouldn't know what to even look for when deciding which trainer to use lol

It's just nice to have a back up ready if you get called out, you can show them that you have a 2-3 year school session dedicated to the science.

I have found trainers are only really useful for motivation and being pushed hard during a workout. I'd say everyone here generally knows how to do the lifts correctly.

Not necessarily, this depends if you're an independent business or your contracted by a gym, if you work for a gym alot of the times it's just about looks since all you'll be doing is running the workshops/classes that your typical gym-goer goes to 1 time (not enough to benefit any results from).. So for that you just need a pretty face, if you yourself run your own business and have your own clients that you meet with weekly, without having proper knowledge and actually helping them lose the weight or whatever it is their goal is, you won't get good feedback, thus no more recurring clients, does a pretty face help in that one too? Yeah, but you also need to have some knowledge atleast.

used to go to a Planet Fitness around here about a year ago and the 2 trainers there (one girl that had to be like 5'1 and 140 lbs, and some guy that was like 5'6 and 150 lbs, I know the exact opposite of what you would expect right?) both got their certs on those "2 week" programs.. So just to show you don't really need any knowledge OR a pretty face to get it.
