to avoid feeling tired during the day?

any foods to eat/avoid to not be tired?

during the work week i get 5-7 hours, and usually feel fine once i've gotten a shower.

i usually try to get at least 8, but im always still tired

then there are days ill only get 6 and i feel perfectly fine at work...

not sure what to make of that

Literally as much as you need. But to be more scientific falling and rising with sun is probably the most sufficient way unless it varies a lot. Even then you can vary with it to an extend.

The question was how much sleep do you need to avoid feeling tired

Not what is optimal for health and longevity.
