I have the powerblock dumbbell. Really good, no point in the stand though unless if you just like things to look cool... you just need a flat, hard surface (the ground) to set them down and change the pins as needed.

I got the U-90 dumbbells. When I got them, they came in two sets: 5-50lbs, and the expandable stage II set that brought the set up to 90lbs. The set looks like this (although I don't know how they bundle them now): http://powerblock.com/prod_homeuse_u90stage2.php

I subsequently bought a full dumbbell set off Craigslist, but that took up too much space, and I went back to using the Powerblocks (sold the full dumbbell set a few months back). Honestly, unless if you really like dropping your weights on the floor, powerblocks are great. Resale value is excellent too, they're a well-known brand.

If you have any questions just ask, I've had them for a while... since 2011 I think.
