I've googled lots on this, but the answers are pretty generic. Seems like it's fine, but I just want to account for any reduced usefulness. Anyone else have any input?

My protein powder expired 07/2014. I totally forgot I had another tub. I had bought 3 in bulk, and put one in storage (cool, dry area), and just found it.

Either I continue using the protein powder I already have going right now, or I dig into this for now... it's unflavored GNC whey protein isolate. I figure since it was sealed and stored well, it should be fine. It's 6lbs, so not just a tiny bit.

On a bit of a budget in a way, despite wasting some cash on preworkouts & etc. I have free access to proper food, but the protein powder is there to supplement when there isn't meat around.

It smells fine!! :) Did cost me $40 or so... and to get another tub, I'll probably end up doing the buy one get one 50% off deal, meaning, idk, $60 for the first tub, $30 for the second, about $100 after taxes for 12lbs of whey isolate.

If sealed might be ok but its been a year so no ty.

Stuff degrades the longer its not consumed.

Funky taste will ensue once bad.

Should probably be fine, sometimes even if stored well stuff goes hard (mainly from moisture) if its still powdery thats the first sign that it should be okay.

If all else fails, give 1 shaker worth to a mate ask what he thinks of flavour without telling him its off

Hah.

Well it tastes fine. Pretty much tasteless. Way better taste to it than the flavored stuff... because it's flavorless, so when I mixed it with some frozen berries, it was actually pleasant.

I think I'll be buying flavorless next time as well.

expiration date means that the provider cannot guarantee that the product will match exactly what is expected from the product (reduced efficiency, different content, gone bad, etc)

check if its gone bad, if not it should be fine, i mean, everyone has eaten expired yogurt before

Don't think it'll be a problem.
