I call bullshit

guy talks about it as if he DIDNT miss out on 12 years of life, gives a humble/wise outlook as if he wasn't still having the intellectual limitations he had when he began the state (I would only assume he didnt go to school from that point on).

Good for him. That's a very rare case. A lot of people, particularly younger people, have to completely relearn everything after 12 years of not using things. That includes speaking, reading, social norms, etc.

If i woke up from a vegetative state after 12 years, i would be cranky as fuck! But thats just me.
