Club Fitness (unsure of all areas if near you)
Anytime Fitness (again, above)
some local strength gyms etc.

Why? They keep a moderate price while providing generally most of the machines/equipment you'll ever need, without trying to tag in all the shit a place like Gold's will offer (tanning, training, supplemental access, every other bullshit money grubbing detail)...

other than the fact planet fitness dumbbells max out at 75, they have no free weight bench press or squat rack (not even power racks to make ur own bench/squats).. they have no hammer strength machines that are unilateral and use plates (they only use cable systems which make the full ROM not as legit as a free weight would).. but really other than that it is an okay gym for 10$/m... urs is 24/7 must be nice, when I was beginning and was there it had HORRIBLE hours.. (6am-7pm) leaving me almost no good time to really get a workout.

do the $10 month at golds, they have barbells and such that planet fitness does not offer.
the gold's in my city is ridiculous they wanted hundreds of dollars sign on fee and a ridiculous monthly fee, and they arent even open 24 hours. luckily i have the $20 month grand opening special. Golds for $10 would be an amazing deal

[x] other

The one in your garage.

Provided you have the capital for the initial equipment investment, and the ability to stay motivated to actually *use* that weight pile, of course.

From what I've heard Planet Fitness has to be the most retarded gym-chain in the world.
