I started bc i wanted to have a better mental health. My "funk" at the time started to go away when i started working out. My anxiety & depression levels have dropped significantly. Eventually I started to care about my physical health. I feel like the older you get, the more you start to care for it. I see older people complain in pain & i enjoy the fact that me working out helps my physical health (especially preparing myself for the future) as well as mental health.

You get health benefits whether you want them or not. Just being physically active multiple times a week greatly reduces your risks for many many diseases and health issues, for as long as you maintain your activity and then some

at first i trained for my health, since i felt like shit and was probably 40% bodyfat... now i do it for looks

a lot of people who are really into fitness are very unhealthy, you can have a 6 pack/ ripped body eating like garbage..and looking like garbage. How you look is only one part of your overall health.
