When I was ~ 70kg ish I could do 25 pull ups, now I'm 85kg with more or less same fat % but way more muscle mass and I can probably do 15 at most. I do 3-5 sets of 8 pull ups.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. It's simply a fact that the pound for pound argument goes down the toilet when you start playing with big boy weights. However, alpha is the only one on this forum that is sub 160 (if he even still is. Been Afk for a while) and still pulling heavy ass numbers, so I think it's fair. Besides, I'd be interested to see how many times he could pull 305 anyhow. When I was my strongest at 241 lbs, i could pull 485 for 13-15 when fresh.
Also, pullups work like that mostly due to the small muscle groups in your middle back and your rear delts. It's hard to strengthen those but that's why you're doing pullups in the first place :D. Besides, pullups comps are for the scrawns.
