It's time for a new competition, deadlift.

I feel like last time in the bench press competition, lightweights were a bit advantaged cough cough alpha so I've made my best along with Aube's help to make it fair for everyone.

Date limit: January 31, 2015

Weight

Weights are in LBS (bodyweight - deadlift weight)
  • 160 and minus - 305
  • 161 to 170 - 315
  • 171 to 180 - 330
  • 181 to 190 - 340
  • 191 to 200 - 350
  • 201 to 210 - 355
  • 211 to 220 - 365
Etc.

Rules
  • Conventional deadlift
  • Lockout at every rep
  • Raw deadlift - NO belt, NO straps
  • No touch and go
  • No more than 5 seconds between reps
  • No breaks when on top
  • One person per account(s) - that rule is for lads
  • You have to show your face - that rule is for lads again
  • As many tries as you want, as long as the video is posted before time limit
  • We must see you weight yourself

Prize
  • 1st place - 50%
  • 2nd place - 35%
  • 3rd place - 15%
  • Beat Jam - 50 fg

I'm starting the pot with 2000 fg , any donations are appreciated and will go towards the competition.

Current pot: 2000 fg

Lighter weight classes will ALWAYS beat heavier weight classes when it comes to pound for pound or body weight stuff, its designed to be fair, but really isn't at all.

Any ways pretty neat idea. Guess I might just be able to squeeze in the 340lb class :p

Yeah, agreed but alot of lighter guys on this forum reflect inexperience, so I think it evens out. If this was a competitive pl forum I would totally agree.

Wish I was half as strong as I once was. I'd have alot of fg from all these recent contests. Afk getting stronk

haha go for it. A prime example of pound for pound favouring them lighter dudes:

When I was ~ 70kg ish I could do 25 pull ups, now I'm 85kg with more or less same fat % but way more muscle mass and I can probably do 15 at most. I do 3-5 sets of 8 pull ups.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. It's simply a fact that the pound for pound argument goes down the toilet when you start playing with big boy weights. However, alpha is the only one on this forum that is sub 160 (if he even still is. Been Afk for a while) and still pulling heavy ass numbers, so I think it's fair. Besides, I'd be interested to see how many times he could pull 305 anyhow. When I was my strongest at 241 lbs, i could pull 485 for 13-15 when fresh.

Also, pullups work like that mostly due to the small muscle groups in your middle back and your rear delts. It's hard to strengthen those but that's why you're doing pullups in the first place :D. Besides, pullups comps are for the scrawns. ;)

what a retarded set up.

brb 160 lber has to rep 305 and someone with 60 more lbs of muscle only has to rep 365

Since all the weigths are based on a wilks of 100 and not on bw% I disagree. Comparings wilks lifts to bw pullups is far from a good comparison.

Wilks was an awesome idea aube :). Much proud.

It really is the only current fair way to do the comps.

Lol I'm agreeing with you.

I just said this was a neat idea and that OTHER bodyweight comps (i.e. bodtweight bench/squats/deads for reps or total lift on big 3 / by body weight or push up/pull ups for reps) are unfair, not this one.
