So I've had shin splints for like 8 months now. Went to physiotherapy but all that did was make me spend a bunch of money.
I started playing basketball about a year ago and a couple of months later i started to get shin splints.
I took a break from basketball in early october cus I got tired of playing in pain all the time and not being 100%.
But I still show symptoms when I do brisk walking and a little running/jumping..

Has anyone ever experienced shin splints and how did you get rid of them if you did?

I used to get them, I got nice shoes and did toe drags to help.

Keep doing the exercises and stretches your physio taught you.
Also, look into getting orthotics if you don't use them.
If that doesn't work or the pain is really acute... try R.I.C.E.

Well all the physio gave me was ankle, knee and hip strengthening/stalibizing exercises.. I did those for a while but the inflammation on the muscle is still there..

Then try the other two things in the post.

And you need to continue the exercises anyway... Rest for 3-7 days and then continue doing them. Or research some of your own exercises for your condition on your own.

And if that fails... or the issue is really acute, take an advil lol.

The thing is that i've tried everything. Have had this for 8 months or so..
The pain is not acute but it's consistent.. It doesn't go away.

Well if you've tried everything from getting the ideal shoes, orthotics, training regime, focus on your form, not overly exerting yourself, proper gait, rest, ice, compression, elevation, anti-inflammatories, physiotherapy and everything in between those, while staying compliant to the prescribed routine, then you need to go see your doctor.

Don't just try to fix the symptoms "How do I get rid of my shin splints" but fix the problem... Ask yourself "Why am I getting shin splints?"

If you run or walk, are you striking with your heal? Are you putting too much striking force when you come down from a layup?
How stiff are your calves? Are the anterior muscles working overtime to compensate for lack or mobility?

These are some things you should consider. Yes a shoe might help initially but you will then rely on shoe padding rather than learning to land softly.
