will be testing a max maybe friday so was curious what you guys think i should get around

Depends how you are used to heavy weights and how hard your were your sets.

I have maxed maybe once or twice ever lol

Nice. when I was able to do about 340-50 I could do a 5x5 @ 285 with the 5th set getting 7 reps instead of 5.
I'd think you're in that ball park. Not sure why you'd want to do 8 sets though?
