Today I turned 19 so naturally I had to go ham tittiez on the deadlifts cause deadlifts#1.

I was curious about why there's such a big gap (or seems to be) between my deadlifts for close to a max and deadlifts for reps.

I hit 365x2, pretty hard couldve gotten maybe one more.
Afterwards I decided to just take a set to failure with 275. Got 26 reps. (these are all double overhand, no straps no belt, dead stop reps)

275x26 sets my estimated max closer to 500, yet 365x2 felt pretty damn heavy.

Is that kind of gap between deadlifts for reps and heavy deadlifts normal?

Meh don't try to do 1RM calculations with anything over 8-10 reps usually.

Really isn't any point to do high rep deadlifts anyways... use accessories for the extra volume and do DLs with high weights for lower (1-5) reps.

i do high rep deads sometimes; i like them (10-15 reps). and i know george leeoman is a fan of high rep for strength training, so may be something there
