I take:
Mutant mass gainer (whey)
Creatine
Omega 3 fish oil tablet
Multivitamin tablet

The RDA of Vitamins A and E if I take the Omega 3 and multivitamin is like 300%+
I know I'm not gonna die or anything but is it possible to get negative effects from exceeding RDA on certain micros? Or do you guys get 300%+ every day on various vitamins and just think that more is better?

you actually need those excessive amounts to counter the oxidative stress from training regularly.

There are toxic plasma levels for every micronutrient, some of them are nearly impossible to reach but others (minerals and fat soluble vitamins notably) are relatively easy.

More is certainly not always better in most cases, vitamin C is one of the really hard ones to OD on but I wouldn't be too concerned with a multi plus fish oil. Just follow the instructions on the package

interesting. well i work out like 3-4 times a week and im never in the gym for more than an hour. so i dont think 300% is necessary - ill probably switch like taking a multivitamin one day and omega 3 the next day

I was curious about that myself, but I found on most of the multi's I use, they say take 2-3x daily.. so if thats the case for you, just don't take the full serving when you feel you don't need to.

Don't confuse my post as being antagonistic to Lightman, the info complements what he said. Yes as an active individual you need more reducing agents in the body but there are still OD thresholds to pay attention to

because they are fat soluble and they are the two known for reaching high levels in the body... maybe it isn't a good idea to take high doses for an extended period of time (im talking into years here).
I doubt anything serious would happen, but it is also probably needless to exceed the RDA by more than 3 fold.
if you have a condition that warrants it (it seems like everybody on jsp is 6'1 with an 8 inch dick and somehow has crohns disease) then you might want it.
supplementing high levels of vitamins A + E might actually be harmful in people who are smokers
