First let's answer why.

I was going heavy for about 6 months straight. I got up to 375 for reps (which for a bro that really hates legs and never took them seriously before is impressive IMO).

One day I go to warm up (135) and on the first rep I feel a twinge in my knee. Very uncomfortable feeling so I stop. It stays sore for 2 weeks, but never bad enough where I consider an MRI. I take 3 weeks off after that from legs (5 weeks total) and go in and go light. It seems somewhat healed but still bothers me ever so slightly.

Long story short, I'm not doing them anymore.

What would you bros suggest? I still continue to do deads, and really the only exercise I've been doing for legs is hitting the stationary bike on a very high resistance twice a week.

Box Squat machine
Lunges
Leg Extensions
Leg Curls
Lying Leg Curls
Leg Press

Do not use the smith machine. It encourages improper form and you will pay for it when you get back to squatting. Which you will, because you're not a bitch.

Hodge Twins on Youtube... they often say phrases like... "using bad form is a one way ticket to snap city" (i.e. breaking back)
