Sorry if I"m the 50018923th person to post a thread about this...

I'm not debating anyone on anything, I just wanted to know more about metabolism.

So give me random facts/thoughts on it.

-What exactly is it? IIRC "sum of chemical reactions in your body?"
-Is there really a faster/slower metabolism for people?
-Does metabolism get affected by tons of eating in one sitting, should there be spread meals?
-Is it true that some people don't get fat because it burns a lot faster? Or are they just not eating enough?
-Etc.

Measurements of all chemical reactions and physical constituents in the body.

Faster and slower metabolism doesn't really exist. there are variations, but they're far smaller than you probably imagine.

# of meals doesn't affect BMR

People don't get fat for a number of reasons, it burning faster is not one of them.

etc.

Yeah basically chemical processes
Yes there is faster and slower. Typically, it won't differ that much.. at most 500-600 kcal difference but that's the outliers.
Of course metabolism gets affected by eating, but meal frequency still doesn't matter because it's dependent upon the # of total kcals. That's why 1 meal vs 6 meals both @ 3000 kcals will have the same TEF and thus metabolism increase.
Doubtful some people don't get fat because it burns faster.. the difference in metabolism is one thing for instance. Another major factor is the level of satiety signals due to eating. They've shown great differences in those especially between individuals that are "naturally thin" and those that aren't.

Is there proof of this? Because if credentials are from your education, couldn't the people who disagree with you
say the same? Lol just a thought

Eh? Proof of what?
Credentials are a terrible reliance

Proof of what you're all saying: " meal frequency still doesn't matter because it's dependent upon the # of total kcals," for example

Oh. Just physiology of course.
Metabolism rises each time you eat largely due to TEF

Let's do some math: Let's say our TEF % amongst our entire meal is 10%.
Person A eats 1 meal in the entire day consisting of 3000 kcals just arbitrarily. 3k * .1 = 300kcals burned due to TEF
Person B eats 6 meals each of 500kcals, totaling again in 3000 kcals. 500kcals * .1 = 50kcals/meal * 6 meals = 300 kcals burned due to TEF

I just mean that's the most extreme case is all lol
Typically no more than 100-200
