turkey bacon may be healthier than reg bacon

but isnt it just full of preservatives and other shit thats still terrible?

Yes it's still filled with the same carcinogens unless stated otherwise.

Nothing wrong with nitrates and nitrites
The only valid concern is the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines
Though that does occur, it doesn't occur significantly enough to matter in a normal diet.. and nitrates and nitrites themselves are not genotoxic or mutagenic
They've also generally found no association between nitrate/nitrite intake and cancers of the GI tract and related areas where conversion to a nitrosamine does occur. So.
Just to make it clear - they are only deleterious in a great excess.. pretty much like anything. One mechanism is the conversion into a carcinogen and they can also modulate hemoglobin and impede its ability to adequately bind and carry O2

how much would be considered excess? 1 package of 22 slices of turkey bacon a day? lol
