is it okay to round the low back on these if only bodyweight? i dont see the potential for any injury since theres no crazy shear force like if deadlifting with a rounded back. may sound dumb af idk. gonna start adding these in feel like i need them but is a flat back the better way to go?

why would u even go there? push your butt out, keep hams slightly angled and keep full lordosis. unless you meant round it as you should via lordosis

i was talking about lower back rounding as in the kind to avoid when u deadlift. not arched, but rounded. and i was just wondering if it was harmful considering there would be no shear force since its only bw

theres still a load on the system, its just significantly less. to be safe, just use proper posture. yes the spine can handle very light loading in certain ranges of motion but its very situational and torque moments can literally change upon milimeters of displacement. why risk damaging a disc or worse, nervous tissue

Any rounding and lifting is bad. Exactly why people throw out their backs bending over to pick something like paper up off the floor.

Read Stuart McGill's book "Low Back Disorders"

You using a 45* back extension ?Are you referring to when your body goes down into the "L" shape of the movement and you want to go a little further by rounding the back ?
As if someone who bends over to touch their toes but cannot unless they round their lower back?

I'm just trying to get a visual lol...

I would definitely avoid rounding hour lower back , especially purposely... That sounds like an Injury waiting to happen.. Brace ur core and keep it tight , only go as far as you are able to with good form.
