After years and years of hardcore sports and insanely crazy physical things....

i finally met my 2nd injury

I was really pumped this morning so when i grabbed my 20 lb backpack to leave my class....i grabbed it as fast as i could and SOME HOW...i tore something in my arm. My body started walking to the door before my arm even flex to carry that weight. I have no idea how it happened to be honest.

Now i can't even fucking bend it without wanting to scream.

3 years of basketball and football in high school, and 4 years of bjj....no injuries

On top of a lifetime of winter snowboarding and summer skating and jumping off buildings and filming it.

My friend stepped off a curb in the dark without knowing it was there and he tore his ACL last week.

Such nonsense. Anyone here tear/break anything from something dumb like this?

I can only move my arm about 30 degrees before it sticks and doesn't want to move. Hurts too much to really move so i lost all my range of movement in that joint :(

Before I started weight training I used to randomly pull something in my back just randomly lifting stuff - eg moving bike, moving mini fridge, reaching for stuff.

I think compound movements and stretching is key to reducing risk of random injuries.

Broke my ankle, tore all the ligaments, and have bone bruising/bleeding.. a month ago.. Teaching kids how to play ultimate Frisbee.

I've played competitive ultimate twice a week for years, and my first injury is while teaching 7th-12th graders how to play. Sigh..

I did this may long. Basically fell over on a dirtbike... so stupid. Only thing is it'll probbaly never be 100% or even all that close ever again. It's pretty fucked. They won't do surgery on it because it wasn't a proximal or distal tendon tear/avulsion. I tore all 3 hamstring muscles right in the belly of the muscle. None were complete tears. The semimembranosus took the brunt of it. Hammy is weak as a kitten right now. And I'm a runner and been an athlete all my life. I can't even jog 200m without my hamstring fatiguing so badly I have to stop and walk
