Hey guys

To start off, 3 months ago I was 145 lbs. my height is just under 6"1.

After eating more and occasionally working out I slowly got up to 152 lbs, which is where I'm at now. However in the last few weeks I've seen no weight gain, whilst I've been going to the gym more and lifting way heavier.

My calorie intake has been pretty steady, between 3500 and 4000 calories a day including protein shakes. That should be enough to put on mass at my weight according to all the guides and stuff I've seen.

If you aren't gaining weight, I would think that you aren't eating enough. And you can't have a 500 calorie gap if you are looking to monitor things. You might want to be more precise.

There's no way you're eating 3,500-4,000 calories a day, otherwise you'd be gaining 1-2lbs a week

It takes time; 3 months or weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Also depends on the rep range you are training at. You'll gain mass faster training at reps more conducive to hypertrophy

And lol again at you claiming to be offering medical/training advice at one point a few months back. Then defending yourself to adamantly. Given up on that one?

Most skinny people make the same mistake. You simply do not eat enough.

That's it.

Most of my friends over eat when they want to bulk.

The hardcore ones will know exactly how much to eat if they don't want to over eat while bulking or gaining.

I played a lot of sports during my lifetime and i suffered with gaining weight. I took weight gainers but all i had to do was eat more.

When you go out and eat 4000 calories. It's obvious that 2000 calories of that being fat would not help your gains.

You would probably want a combination of fats, carbs, proteins, and fiber for each meal. That fiber will help your body absorb things at a constant rate.

You don't have to though. You can just go with pure carbs and protes and still do ok. You just need to eat.

Seriously though, just eat.

My friend lifts more often then i do and he never gains because he can't get enough calories as a vegan.

FYI, cutting out all fat is a terrible terrible idea

I do agree with the 'just eat' sentiment though!

I do agree that most people with weight problems just need to alter their eating (whether overweight or underweight). Using a "fast metabolism" as an excuse is kind of lame, as I realised when I put on a good deal of weight from eating more in the last few months.
