How many of you give blood? Do you agree with the claims made to persuade you? In Canada I've seen ads saying donate and you could save 3 lives.

I think that's complete BS but even if you can save 1 life by donating, or increase the quality of life for 1 person, I think it would be very selfish of me not to donate. It's one of those situations where people can go on leading great lives with your donation, not one of those give a bum some food which will help him 1 time type of deals.

Anyways thoughts?

iirc, way too many people donated blood following the 9/11 attacks on the US, and they ended up throwing up a good chunk of it.

Say we donated twice a year. I'm sure we wouldn't notice the difference though?

I donated twice this past year and both times I got sick the day after and threw up

Used to, find myself too busy to do it now and I'm not a very uncommon blood type although thats not a good excuse. That being said, universal donors should be giving every 56 days which in Canadian procedure.

It helps a lot, work @ a hospital.
