So recent images of Kai show his delts and hint at his abs improvement. Those are the two places (if we don't count forearms) where Phil has him beat. Everywhere else, most people feel Kai has the advantage.

Thoughts? /hype?

I love Kai, but not as much as he loves grapefruit.

Phil was quite a bit above kai. Kai would have had to improve a ton and phil get worse.

Phil was....perfect. or the closest there is currently. Sure, kai is bigger in some areas, but phil is a way more complete package.

I think Phil overwhelms via his upper back/delts/traps. He also had Kai in the abs area. But Kai has worked to improve those areas (or so it seems, can't tell until the show I guess).
Otherwise I actually think Kai has the advantage. He has a better bicep peak, much better lower back, similar middle back, much better legs (massively overlooked) ... so really, Kai has the better physique except for the delt/traps and abs ... which are his biggest weakpoints.

Heath has another advantage: contest prep. Since 2012 Kai missed the boat twice. First he came in flat and he really had the wrong gameplan. He got big but then he wanted to cut to compete with Phil. He screwed up the cut. Last year, he seemed to be all over the place with his prep. He went in coachless afaik and that may have hurt him. I felt he wasn't sharp enough and he kept his weaknesses.

i second this... they would make so much more money, isn't the prize money like 50k for 1st place to literally be THE BEST bodybuilder in the world? i honestly think bodybuilding would be the most intense sport to train for aswell...
