So when you are recovering while sleeping your muscles are repairing and growing etc.. but could how you are positioned in your sleep effect your muscle growth? Im sure if it did it would be minimal but over time it could add up. For example when laying flat on your back or stomach with your arms to your side your chest is stretched which would cause more blood to flow into the muscles than if you were to lay on your side with your chest relaxed right?

Don't over think it

Sleep how its comfortable for you. Would you really be willing to force yourself into a sleep position that might be uncomfortable while under the superstition you might get bigger muscles?

As Jim said, dont over think it. You'd be better off wearing compression garments (skins) to bed while you sleep to increase blood flow.. and that would still ultimately have sweet fuk all relevance to gains.

I slept on my side and strained my shoulder... so yeah, that affected my recovery and training. feels bad when sleep hurts you more than lifting weights.
