That's not ridiculous, 120w is fairly light exercise and 1.7L/min is not a high vo2. Keep in mind you aren't calculating or estimating his vo2max, just the oxygen cost of this exercise. Your value is correct though. To find part b, multiply your L/min value by 5kcal/L to determine kcal/min.
