i have to read the same page a million times before it is memorized.

need more brain memorizing tips, besides writing down key points.

ohhhh snap, taking my first quiz on 2 chapters in the NASM PT textbook.

gotta read the information and it just goes over my brain.

you know it was really easy to lead raids in WoW, did my research on the raids and boss fights and all that. But i cannot do that on real life books hahahaha

Look up the difference between active vs passive reading. Be an active reader. You also need to be in the right state of mind. Avoid distractions. Hit up the public library if you want.

If it's something your passionate about it should come easily. Take that passion you had about wow raids and put that drive towards your studies.

A random little study trick that really helped me for some reason was looking at the information from slightly different angles. Say you're memorizing state capitals, "The capital of Washington is Olympia," but also "Olympia is the capital of Washington."

This is like the most basic example so looks pretty retarded, but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say haha.

This. You're just reading the words...

You have to actively think about what you're comprehending and analyze it as you go.

For example if I'm reading Huck Finn and he makes a remark about slavery, you should be thinking
about slavery, why did he say this about it, etc.

Don't know if that's overly important though
I normally actively read and remember most things.. but very often I'm lazy and literally skim over an article with no analysis or intention for deep comprehention and still remember it well lol

I think the key for a good memory, apart from genetics, deciding what's salient to you and figuring out your niche.. aka HOW you learn best.. ie auditory vs visual. Idiosyncrasies govern all tbh

But not everyone can just skim it and know it all... BALLA
