As some of you may remember, I left 3 months ago to go tree planting in Alberta Canada.

These last three months have by far been the toughest challenge physically and mentally of my entire life. Youre up at 530am-6am every morning 5-6 times a week and work until 6pm-1030pm every day. All the while you sleep in a tent every day of your life and live in the wilderness. The bugs are horrendous and the heat is disgustingly hot. The food however is quite amazing at breakfast and dinner. They provide lunch but you have to make it yourself. After a while, everyone is eating 6+ PB & J's for lunch day in and day out. Drinking LOTS of water is a necessity. A minimum of 2Gallons a day the body requires or you cramp up like never before. Its almost like a chore.

That being said, tree planting is physically enjoying at some times. The fact that is becomes competitive like a sport makes each day a little easier. High balling your buddies is the best feeling in the world. And for those of you who don;t know, tree planting is peace work. You are paid by the tree and are not required to plant if you do not want too. I however only went tree planting to persevere through something that is out of my element and to make a ton of money at the same time.

I am glad to say I accomplished all my goals over the last three months. I was rookie highballer of our camp and placed 2nd overall in the entire camp. I received multiple injuries throughout the season but planted through all of them.

I myself would recommend tree planting a solid weight loss program to anyone that is having a difficult cutting weight. Its a workout and a job all in one. I lost around 10lbs on the season and i didnt even think i had weight to lose considering the very minimal fat i have.

If anyone has questions about tree planting, related injuries, or questions about statistics of what I planted or what the average planter does feel free to ask. I think I could answer anything related in the field.

I went planting to pay off the majority of my student debt. Now that I have basically paid most of it off the next step is finding a decent occupation for the next year and save so I can travel and do whatever I feel like basically. I'm 23 years old and I am in not rush to settle down.

good for him!! i respect absolutely anyone that gives tree planting a try. it is definitely one of the most difficult things I can possibly think of. however, when you make a lot of money you reconsider returning for another season because you will always do better than your first year.
