Are all calories considered only energy? My friends have recently been telling me thar there is no such thing as bad or good calories and that what is bad is the type of food.

LOL wat

A calorie is a unit of energy. No food or calorie source is inherently bad, but can be less than ideal in excess.

I mean I'm not telling you to go eat 10 donuts to get your daily kcal requirements, there is still a need for a variety of micronutrients for proper metabolism so fruits and veg are great but you don't have to become a vegan to maintain body comp or health. Basically avoid great extremes in your diet. Get a little bit of everything and you'll be alright
