Try starting strength if you haven't lifted much before.

Most importantly learn about calories and marcros, those will be your biggest tools in recomping your body. HIIT (High intensity interval training) is very rewarding cardio in terms of time vs results.
Two other amazing tools are macro / calorie calculators (a quick google away) and sites with food logs so you can easily track what you're eating.
I remember a great HIIT program my grade 9 phy. ed teacher showed us (I lost like 45+ lbs in that class) but lost motivation somewhere on the road lol
so I've got a comprehension on the whole cardio thing, what about strength improvement? Are push-ups/crunches overrated? I'm also trying to be careful as I got hit by a car ~5 weeks ago, my vertebrae isn't fractured anymore but my back still gets sore once in a while
