Ive been doing a workout routine that has 7 exercises two days a week and 3 in one day. I'm definitely getting stronger, but I'm also sore as hell 3-4 days a week, today its my triceps and stretching makes it hurt alot.

You guys keep dropping hints about 5x5 and 5/3/1, I'll be doing both eventually, but where should I start?

Ive googled and sort of checked out each routine, the 5/3/1 is a little confusing but I didn't look at it for long enough to really figure it out.

would follow one or the other, not mix them.

Read the 5/3/1 book, it's pretty short.

I haven't done 5x5, but 5/3/1 is a awesome program imo, would highly recommend.

531!! It's the shit I've been hitting rep prs almost every time I'm in there, but I did just start and it days start light. I use to think it was complicated a very long time ago and it was because I never read the book it's actually very simple and that's the point of the program keeping it simple

Google free pdfs

Inb4illegal

I did the basic workout for 5/3/1, OP

Its flexible and I like the use of % of RM so each month its an easy 5-10lb pr gain. I only did 3 cycles though

Read up to like page 46 lol.. There's a nifty link in the ask skcraynor thread that lays out a cycles worth of info for 5/3/1 so you don't hVe to crunch the numbers. I'm gonna start 5/3/1 with my next work week thursday or friday. Gonna hit the gym tonite and see if I can get the max's hammed out. It's good to know you don't have to throw a full amount of weight on the bar and attempt/fail to know what your max is. I want to see how many times I can put up 175 on the bench press, i'm guessing twice lol..

As far as the warm ups go, am I supposed to warm up on everything before I start the 5/3/1 weights? Or like on military press day just do the warm up for military press?
