Knee surgery Thursday.
Dr. said i'd be out of work for at least 6 weeks.
Once I get cleared to start working out post physical therapy, what do you think is the best way to ease into things?
Also diet wise I'll be going high protein, moderate fat, low carb while recovering.
Good luck with the surgery, hope it goes well.
As far as the therapy goes...you would probably be best off doing free range movements with very light weight. Avoid compound lifts. Take into consideration that basic stretching may be good enough on its own to start re-establishing your ROM. Make sure to know your own limitations and avoid putting any unnecessary stress on the knee. DO NOT DO SQUATS. I repeat DO NOT DO SQUATS.
Besides that, I can also advise that swimming is going to be extremely important for you. Not only will it take stress off of the knee, but it will enable you to improve ROM and increase stretch gradually
diet method is correct as well...just remember to feel yourself plenty of cholesterol....that really helps aid in the recovery process
