well theres no more turkey OR cheese now so alright, il try to cut out all the carbs in my diet, cept nuts have carbs but alright, i know i cant completely cut out carbs and its probably not safe too but you know what im trying to say

as for the celery, we dont really have any here but i can try to see if i can get some?

carbs from nuts is generally ok...especially because of the fiber.

Also...eliminating carbs all together is not "dangerous" in the least...don't believe anyone who says it is.

8 weeks out of the year I don't eat any carbohydrates...NONE...not even from nuts....I mean literally zero. That takes me from 7% to 5% bf...with no side effects....plenty of energy from the protein and fat as well as caffeine ;-)

anyway - eliminate the grains and sugars...and you should be fine.

What are your opinions on ground turkey? I was thinking of buying this rather than chicken to drop a few lbs. Not sure if chicken is more expensive but if it is, then I'm doing ground turkey on this diet. smile.gif

Hey buddy..

well in all honesty...chicken and turkey are so similar...that there really isn't an advantage to ground turkey except for taste preference.

I personally prefer chicken for both price and flavor...I don't care much for turkey.

Overall, I would stick to ground beef for the excellent fat content (which will obviously help you burn up some body fat as well)...remember, carbs and sugar are the enemy...not fat and protein.

Turkey and Chicken are good as long as you have a good fat to go with them...like sour cream, avocado, cheese, olive oil, etc.

What's the ideal rep scheme for size?

a very good question.

If you are just looking for pure bodybuilder size...without the exactly modicum of power-lifter strength, I would highly advise to do failure sets and breakdowns.

number of reps doesn't matter as much as the intensity of the reps....and number of sets should be no less than 20 per major muscle group.

I would try to stick to complimentary splits or single groups and take very little rest between sets, keeping a huge pump the entire time.

Make sure you have a spotter or at least a really good work ethic...because the difference between average joe and jacked are those extra few reps that you force out at the end of each set.

Hmmmmm. Well I take about 3 fish oils a day. Morning, day, and night.

that's horribly inadequate.

1 fish oil soft-gel has about .5-1g of good fat.

You seriously need a much higher fat intake, especially with food meals.

The best idea is the following:

1. Stick to fatty fish, red meat, or white meat covered in olive oil.

2. ALWAYS take 3 fish oil soft-gels with EVERY food meal (not shakes)

3. mix a small amount of heavy cream with every protein shake (bolsters the fat, and tastes phenomenal)

yes, when cutting you want a TON of fat...probably more than during bulking.

You want to eliminate carbs and sugar completely.

it's very simple.

Protein - any meats, any cheeses, protein shakes.

fats - olive oil, nuts (dont go overboard b/c of the carbs), peanut butter, fish, fish oil, avocados, dairy, EFA supps, flax, etc.

carbs - NONE ;-)

eat every 2-3 hours
