Well Troll, you have fun with your dirty bulk and let me know how the results go for you.

I'll clean bulk and see much better results and stay leaner making it easier to dial-in for my next show.
Yes I'll cheat once or twice a week and yes I eat lean ground beef/steak. I've even been eating it all the way up til my show.

at 175lbs, year ago, before bulk


at 215lbs, year later, 40lbs bulked


I credit a lot of this bulking to legs...although I didnt have a pic from a year ago, I never trained legs...so I had no legs/glutes

And this one shows the mass I gained in my back quite well.



To add on, for a while my chest was growing in a lot. But since April I kept getting sick, got the flu/strep about 4 times...in a row. and then a couple of colds so I was out for a bit

There's no such thing as a dirty or clean bulk? Lean ground beef is cheating to you? If you had (for the sake of argument) 2800 calories (we'll say it's a 500 surplus) with 200g protein, 300g carbs, and 88g fat (that comes out to about 2792) coming from "clean" sources, as opposed to me having the EXACT same macro/micro nutrient content and calories, but from "dirty" sources, then our body composition, assuming we had the same genetics and all that nonsense, would be IDENTICAL. There's really no argument there.

EDIT: Sorry, ignore the lean ground beef part. I misread it, but I understand what you're saying by it. I somehow managed to see it as you eat it for a cheat meal, haha. My apologies. The rest still applies, though!

Tbh, I haven't seen your before pics but I think you look decent, compadre. :) I still have a long ways to go. :( I hate being a nub.

haha thanks man.

just gotta dedicate yourself. plan and follow through. eat a lot, and find what it is that stimulates you best to grow.

for me it was when I started DL, doing progressive overload...then me and my buddy really started pushing it more on squats and leg press.

bench followed but it was never my strong suit...my left shoulder and elbow both have injuries

IMO you should be eating less calories... A lot of that mass you gained has been fat, which is just a waste.. Throw in some HIIT after your workouts

I would pick your before pic any day, look ripped and decent size..

not as much as you may think. unfortunately i dont have all angle picture from BEFORE. but I literally had NO legs back then, my back was a fraction of the size and I had no glutes

the before pic was merely before bulk, and yeah i did look pretty good at that point..but soon after that a huge change happened to my body, its as though I had gotten a huge test surge and then it completely died down and reversed within the space of a week or 2. since then I havent been able to fight bloating to my face, no matter my diet

dunno why, its fucked

PS. have you ever posted pics before?
