I don't think there was anything wrong with your stance, but your knees do push in a bit out of the hole, which is a sign of lacking hams/glutes. I'm 6'3'' and my stance is more narrow than yours, and I've never experienced any problems.

Did your hip used to hurt in the front? If so I remember i had similar pains when i lifted for football in highschool, and narrowing my stance helped a lot with that.

Yeah.

I recently switched my squat to a closer stance as well. Wide stance doesn't feel natural to me, and if I'm gonna squat I'm gonna squat nahmean? :p

You've always gone atg ;)

I am going atg from now on tho. Dropping the weight next week and working on hitting those hammies off le calves! :D

If you're going deeper than normal I'd film some of your sets to make sure you don't have the infamous butt wink towards the bottom. I attribute an injury to this.

It's a bit hard to tell from the prospective in the video but it looked like you had some slight rounding/pelvic rotation

This here as well... I find the squat to be much less stressful when I use a wider stance. Plus, I can't go very deep with a narrow stance.

Pure, keep in mind that having a closer stance will relieve some stress from your hip, but it will go straight to your knees, and if you're not used to squatting this way, they might not be as strong as needed for that lift. I'd take it easy and work my way up from a somewhat lighter weight. You don't want to hurt your knees.

Well, a wider stance is the most appripiate for moving heavy ass weights, and using a powerlifting technique. You won't see any powerlifter squatting with a narrow stance. And they know what they're doing.

Wide stance>

Now, if you simply want the squat to focus more on your quads for bodybuilding purposes, a narrower stance might be more beneficial, but anyway, if that were the case, I'd simply keep on squatting wide, and add some leg press with a narrower stance for the quads. A wider squat will always be a better developer than a narrower.
