I actually spent months trying different clippers and guards until I found the perfect length for my thickness and growth pattern. I run the Clippers through my beard every 2 days or so usually. Not in November of course. But I usually have the perfect length beard. And just take a straight razor to my neck and cheeks every couple days to keep that clean.

your beard hair is straight though...ours is curly...there's a huge difference...with curly hair it's SO HARD to make the hair even length everywhere because combing it is a pain in the ass ... the hairs curl back and get all knotted, etc.

I have to comb it between 1/2" and 1" around my chin. It curls there until it gets past 1" or so. But I've never let it get past 5". One day I'll go for the duck dynasty. Haha
