I think it's funny how you talk about college, but still seem to want to vicariously live through your "ganster" brother. You should grow up and focus on what's going to make you successful and leave that shit behind. Anyone can pull a trigger, it's not hard (it's hard to be good). I wouldn't even find myself in the same place as a deadbeat thug, and if I did, I probably would walk the other way because its not worth it (although I'm fairly certain I could take most people in a fight). Some of the scariest people I know look extremely normal, but could without a doubt be able to elimnate any gangster, alpha, beta, pretty much anyone.
