Meh, well, as I said earlier there are a lot of things modern science has not been able to prove nowadays, and the people are able to put blind faith into these practices/metaphysics because they can see for themselves the power of meditation and the power of the mind, because after all, there is more to life than we know/think. It's like that Cave/shadow philosopher analogy, I forget which philosopher it was.

a good deal of things in modern science is still more or less justifiable by very strong philosophical arguments (backed by how it reflects in our perception of reality). What youre saying is like a typical argument some use against the theory of evolution: "it's not possible to prove; it's only a theory", etc. In fact, not a single theory can be proved, science is just the method that has worked so far the best in explaining phenomena, and there's a good deal of advancement about the science of cognition and all things mental already.

e: it is possible to test some aspects of the topic in question using the scientific method, there's no denying in that. As far as i know, it just happens that theres very few of them if any

He didn't dismiss the fact there IS a chakra located at the brow like people think but he did basically say the whole "third eye" aspect was nonsense

I agree with what he is saying.

Though the "third eye" is an interchangeable term that anyone can use for anything related to expanding your range of consciousness.

I've been getting a lot of PM's about meditation technique and duration and all of that related stuff so I'm going to post some of the methods I use.

ENVIRONMENT:

1. Clear the energy in the room. Incense or sage smudge sticks. Your mind will immediately go to that meditative mode with the scent of the incense.

2. Clean the room, free it from any clutter, trash, because a clean and clear environment will lead to a clear mindset. This goes for studying too, art, or anything where one needs to focus on something.

3. KEEP A CERTAIN SPOT! This is very important for meditation. Keeping a specific spot for meditation or a shrine will be your own spot, your own holy place/shrine where you can kick-start your session.

4. Turn off all electronics! Electronics emit energy which can interrupt with your own energy/aura. They say turning off electronics 2 hours prior to sleeping enhances quality of sleep as well.

5. Wear loose, comfortable, non-constricting clothing so you can sit comfortably and let your blood flow normally.

6. Adjust the temperature in your room, you don't want it to be too cold or too hot, because it will pose as a distraction.

7. Make sure the place is quiet, you don't want your family or whoever you're living with to come into the room screaming at you jolting you out of your meditation, this sudden jolt to your heart is extremely unhealthy and should be avoided at all costs.

8. Some people say play music, but this is fucking stupid, do NOT listen to music. Even if it's binaural beats on youtube which alter your brainwaves. You want to connect with yourself on a natural level without the use of technology. Just ask yourself, how were the ancient mystics able to accomplish things without technology? For that exact reason, there was no technology and new age books to guide them. They used the universe and their own instinct and their own mind to guide them in their endeavors to alter their level of consciousness, so you should too.

9. Turn off the lights, or adjust the lighting as you wish.

10. Find a comfortable spot that is not too hard on your lower back and keep your spine adjusted and straight. This allows for deeper breathing which is extremely beneficial to the health. When people slouch over, their breathing is impaired and they're not able to get enough oxygen to their vital organs and this leads to health problems which can easily be avoided.

11. FOOD!!!!!!!!!! Be watchful of your diet before meditation you don't want to be too bloated, filled with water-weight, avoid caffeine (causes diuresis and will make you want to urinate, so empty your bowels and bladder before meditation), AVOID HEAVY MEALS (lots of meat especially, because it will take a while to digest and take away from your experience because of the increased blood flow to your stomach, you want the blood flow to go to your brain).

MINDSET:

1. Once you've found your special zen masturbation spot, it's time to clear your mind.

2. Your mind is thinking of a million useless things at the moment as you're reading this. If some of those things are important, write ALL OF THEM down on a piece of paper and tell yourself you will get back to dealing with those problems after the meditation session. (After meditation you will most likely end up finding the answers to those problems which you've written down somehow, weird things like that will happen to you).

3. Once you've written down your problems, you will notice you have less things on your mind, but you will still get those random thoughts. Do not try to fight those thoughts and try to suppress them. Simply acknowledge that you're having thoughts and it's a normal part of human consciousness to think of useless thoughts and let the thoughts go by as if you're an observer observing your own thoughts from a 3rd person perspective. Acknowledge them, let them flow, and move on. Trying to suppress your thoughts will bring you frustration and destroy your motivation. Let your thoughts flow, because the methods I'm about to list will make you forget your thoughts.

4. Believe! Go into meditation with a positive mindset telling yourself you will succeed at meditation and you will reap the benefits! When you do this, you're programming your subconscious mind to lead you on the right path towards your goal!

5. Once your thoughts have relaxed and lessened a bit, then you're ready to experience states of consciousness which will destroy the bubble around you which society and media has used to blind you from your infinite potential!

MEDITATION:

There are....hundreds...no, thousands of methods of meditation. So I'm not going to look up anything, I'm just going to type from pure memory, experience, practice, and research and practicality of the method.

1. Quiet meditation - The type of meditation where you focus on a certain point whether it be physical (candle, or a spot on the wall) or mental (a thought/visualization). When doing this, you block out your thoughts.

-Adjust yourself as mentioned before, sit with your legs crossed, back straight, tongue slightly touching your upper palate of the mouth, mouth closed, and start by breathing deep breaths.
-Visualize your favorite color/positive energy/a white light entering and filling your lungs as you inhale, then visualize dark/damp/negative energy exiting your lungs as you exhale. This method clears your negative energy or any built up energy.
-Keep breathing and keep the visualization up, focus on the tip of your nose as you're doing this.
-An alternative is focusing on your navel area/abdominal area.

2. Transcendental meditation - Never really practiced this, but this is mantra meditation, the most commonly used mantra is OM, the throat center/larynx is stimulated by this and it's supposed to have beneficial effects. I normally do not practice this type of meditation, just once in a blue moon.

3. Energy meditation - There are so many methods to this, but I'll try my best do describe a method I use. This one takes a lot of practice. I don't sit cross legged for this one, I usually lie down flat (corpse pose), hands facing upwards.

-Close your eyes, touch the tendon on your thumb and stroke it. Then try to re-create the sensation in your mind after you're done stroking it.
-Feel it? Good, continue feeling that sensation...and bring it up your thumb and move that sensation around your whole hand, then up your arm. How did that feel?
-If you keep practicing, you will be able to recreate the sensation at will and move it around your body.
-Take this sensation of energy and move it to stimulate your chakras. I highly suggest reading into this method in the book Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce, I know I'm against new age stuff, but this book is amazing, it has new methods to advance yourself energetically.

I'll be adding more to this sub-topic later on, because at the moment I can't really remember shit, so sorry guys, but do try the first method, it's the most effective and takes the least amount of effort. I'll be sure to add more later on, there are just way too many different types of meditation/yogas for me to list out. So ask me if you have questions on specific types of meditation.

TIPS:

1. Set aside a certain time of the day to meditate. Before dawn (the devil's hour) from 3-5 A.M. in the morning is literally THE BEST time to meditate, in almost every world religion, metaphysical standpoint, they say this is the best time because the energy of the universe is flowing down more powerfully at this time, and everything and everybody is sleeping, this is the time of the day where the rift between our world and the spirit world is at its thinnest. That's why you see and hear about people performing rituals, sacrifices, paranormal activity at this time of the day.

2. Have fun with meditation, if you view it as a task (just like lifting), then you won't get any results and you'll have a horrible mindset.

3. Dusk/around sunset is a good time to meditate as well.

End note: This post is a work in progress guys, so I apologize for any lack of information or excess of information or any vagueness. The method I use is focusing on my breathing. Because I can apply it to everyday life and focus on my breathing when I find myself in an extremely stressful situation and end up controlling my mind and the situation in turn. Meditation has many benefits and it's one of the best things you can do with your life. As always feel free to pm me about any specific questions about this, because I've received a lot of pm's about the things I just covered in this post. Hope this helps guys! Go rape your mind now!

ive taken some ketamine in large quantities before and my spirit or astral body whatever.. had detached from my human body. i was looking at the walls in a dark room. only visual was a candle. the walls started warping and started moving towards me. thats when this happened. i started floating away from my body looking at at it from above. it was intense. when i came back.. i was just amazed that i was a human being, and was alive. i would like to be able to achieve this again through meditation but idk if its possible. maybe i was just really high, but it gave me a new perspective on reality.

Everything I'm "claiming" is based off of years of research, experimentation, and applied skills to real life to achieve my goals in life. I'm trying to help people improve their lives, so don't be coming at me sideways with shit like this, because I'm not getting anything out of helping people or offering advice.

You're supposed to help people for the joy of gratification acquired as a result of helping them. Otherwise your intentions are extremely self-centered.

Can't say much to this because you're right.

And I'm underground 100%, I don't even have a facebook or believe in social networking apart from email/jsp. If somebody really matters to me, then they'll keep in touch with me by whatever means possible. #YOLOSWAG420
