You can do this and see how it works. This is a typical alternating cycle and is used to some success in cutting with certain people. You might be a good candidate for this type of training. Give it a shot and see how you feel. I personally prefer keeping cutting static mostly because the high weight low rep training typically exhausts your muscles faster than you can exhaust your cardiovascular system and therefore don't burn as many total calories by the end of the routine.

ABS

as you know im doin a 5x5 plan
and as u know im wanting too put on some serious muscle mass and at the same time be pretty toned and just proportionate.
so should i do abs on a saturday? or mix it in at the end of each workout?
or not atall.

You should be hitting abs about 3 times a week.

hey man whats up?? just a couple questions hopefully you may be able to help me out with... so i work a night shift and i was wondering when to drink my protein shakes... and if i should workout fasted?? because i work at night i workout as soon as im done work (6:30 am and my only meal time during the night would be between 2-3pm) hense why im wondering if drinking my protein shake after my workout then going straight to bed would be a good idea.. or would there be a better alternative ?? any help would be greatly appretiated :) thanks in advance <3

Hey there.

You want to eat your last food meal approximately 1 hour before your last training session. After you are done working out, slam a protein shake, and you can definitely head to bed. This is overall not the preferred method because it doesn't give your body as much time to recover with food after training (you really need another meal 1-2 hrs after training and after your shake). But just make sure when you wake up in the morning you eat a sufficient breakfast.

Do you know any cheap ways to get protein into my macros? Parents buy some of my food but for the most part i need to buy my own food (especially lean meats). Basically im just looking for the most cost effective methods for getting protein in, was looking at maybe tuna since its ~20g a serving and cheaper then chicken. Basically im working off ~$20-30 a week. Cant do eggs either since they make me sick.

currently sitting at 172 pounds at 5'10 with a 33 inch waist at 15% body fat. How many calories should I aim for on a cut in your opinion?

Ohh forgot to add, I'm on a really tight schedule. Is there a cutting split that would require maybe five days a week and one muscle/body part a day? Such as:

Chest, abs, cardio
Arms, cardo
and so on...?

Sorry, I attempted the six day split and i'm coming home way to late to keep up with school work!

is it improper if I'm doing my bent over barbell rows, at like a 45 degree angle, and I'm hitting my chest with the bar, not my stomach?

that's how my form looks like, except I'm bringing the bar up to hit my pecs.
