There is no excuse for increasing the risk of injury, regardless of any exercise attempted at any given weight. Period.
Think, complain and rebuttal any way you desire, there is no argument to be had. I would be far more impressed with a 500lb deadlift executed well.
That video was anything but educational or inspiring.
