may i ask what exactly was *incompatible* between you two? judging from what you already said about religion and politics being only 1 part, this really shouldnt be an issue. if you truely loved her and she didnt share your beliefs you would simply respect her beliefs and this should not even be considered a reason you guys arent compatible.

im not critizing but you havent really given the real reason you guys wont work out. theres not much advice to be given if you dont give details. you have said it yourself the religion/politics is not a major reason but you seem to be displeased with the answers you are getting. so in order to attempt to give you advice you would need to give all the details instead of complaining about the replies when you havent even told us a fraction of the real problem.

The point is, if you resent her, she got to you, she won. And whilst you continue to resent her, it means you haven't moved on yet (despite what you claim). As long as she continues causing you negative emotions, she'll continue being better than you.

Being better than someone isn't about a moral high ground, being more aesthetic, or whatever it is you value. It's about retaining the ability to negatively influence someone to a greater extent than they can influence you. That's the definition of power.
