well originally i planned to go into paramedic, but the mass amount of studying kind of scared me off...however i always thought of firefighter as a back up,... where did you get your EMT cert? at a school or online ? also been looking for something like exercise science, nut, kine, havent really found any schools that have them so far, i'll continue looking though.

what i figure is doing something like getting my PCP maybe doing some work in that field for a while, while getting the other degrees / certs for something like training. Or is their no point in going all over the place and i should just focus on one ?

E: are EMT and EMR the same thing ?

Well at least in FL, in order to be a firefighter, you need to be a paramedic or EMT as well - this is because we use Fire Rescue (both EMS and Fire are integrated). I would highly recommend doing both.

Secondly..don't worry about the studying, you can do anything if you put your mind to it. You need to do EMT before Paramedic - so that will give you an idea of what you are getting yourself into.

You can NOT get an EMT cert online, you have to appear for live classes per NREMT regulations.

EMT and EMR are not the same thing as far as I know.

Lastly, you should really try to focus your attention on ONE single field and go from there. If you bounce around everywhere and have no specific focus, you would take much longer to find a solid long lasting career.

alright , the EMR is required for applying to PCP or more, i think its the same as what you're saying EMT (cant find this in canada or i havent yet) , EMR is = The course equips you with the necessary skills to gain employment in a broad-range of areas, including: ambulance services, fire departments, police, ski patrol, lifeguarding, search and rescue, occupational first-aid, and military.

In addition, many graduates have used their training as an excellent foundation for continued studies in other areas of health care; such as nursing, respiratory therapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, and even medical school.

EMR sounds useful right ? its a full time course that is 3 weeks.

EMR is not the same as EMT....EMR = Emergency Medical Responder...this is the equivalent of First Responder in the US.

However, this is a good thing to get no matter what - go for it! It will help you with just about everything =)

Hey Jim Raynor ive asked a personal trainer about it, as well as people in the forums but no one seems to have much clue, but a few other people experience the same thing.

it only happens when im doing biceps or rows, but my bicep kind of twinges, it feels like a mild electric shock shoots up my arm, its not painful, just a bit unsettling and makes me nervous to continue. my personal trainer was clueless about it too..

any idea's?

Sounds like a pinched nerve. The characteristic "mild electric shock" is the factor that sets me in that direction the most.

I would suggest two possible things:

1. Chiropractic adjustment and deep tissue massage on the arms especially. Also see what the chiropractor has to say...he may recommend ultrasound or xray of the arm(s) in question.

2. Rest, relax, and don't even touch the gym for a good 2 week period. See if it improves when you come back. If the pain is still there, you need to see a doctor. However, if this problem has been going on for a VERY long time - chances are that this method will not work and you may have to see a doctor, preferably a sports medicine doctor.

Get back to me and let me know what happens - but definitely try the chiro first.

Here are some:

Simple Chicken Recipes

Also for other types:

Linguini and Meatballs

6 oz lean ground beef (preferably grass fed) wadded into balls mixed with oats, black pepper, red pepper, garlic, and chili powder.
Bake the beef in an oven at 400 degree until meatballs are cooked
Get brown rice pasta, cook in boiling water until tender
Put the meatballs in a pot with low sodium tomato sauce, heat until the sauce is hot.
Add the meatballs and sauce over the linguini.
Serve with a side of broccoli with garlic or a salad
Enjoy an epic bulking meal!

Also there are other good beef recipes - just check out the food network for some.

Other choices for fish

Egg salad or tuna salad on a salad, blackened mahi, Mediterranean shrimp, pan fried flounder, or grilled tuna steak.

I'm sure that's enough to get you started ;-)
