hey raynor. I restarted keto. I am on day 6 and my strips are saying I'm pretty deep on ketosis. It's the 4th stage out of six which I assume is perfect. do I still go without a carb day for the next week or carb up?

Same question basically.. I saw on your CKD, you're supposed to do 2 weeks on, carb up, 1 week on, carb up, rinse and repeat.. Im on my next 2 weeks "I thought", but tested as Im in deep ketosis.. So should I carb up?

You can begin carb dark right now rather than wait an extra week, your body adjusts to keto rapidly which is good.

enjoy!

hey, i was wondering if you had any knowledge of a certain yogurt

im not sure if there are any kroger stores near you, but ive tried these yogurts called carbmaster yogurt --> http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-kroger-yogurt-carb-master-i112890

the protein/carb/fats are pretty solid for a late night snack, but i was concerned if any of the ingredients made this detrimental enough to go back to cottage cheese or greek yogurt

If olive oil doesn't reach it's smoke point, it remains totally used. Olive oil smoke point is roughly 365degrees which is also conveniently the temperature for which most frying should occur. As a result, if you are VERY careful you can fry or sautee your foods in olive oil and see absolutely no issues whatsoever. I recommend a digital thermometer (laser) for cooking which will give you a great idea where your temps are at.

If the oil never reaches beyond the 365 degree mark, you will be fine with no ill effects.

O.O!

A lot of the times, my olive oil always reaches the steaming point and it kinda changes a little color (more clear). omg, I didn't know this was bad for you lol. Did I fed myself some really bad fats every now and then?

Yep, carb up!

The 2 weeks is only for a broad generalization which is to guarantee that you are in ketosis. Some people are very resistant.

Here are the BAD ingredients: (bolded)

Ingredients: water, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, cream, modified corn starch, glycerine, natural and artifical flavor, salt, gelatin, tricalcium phosphate, malic acid, phosphoric acid, pectin, agar, sodium citrate, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, annatto and turmeric extract (for color), vitamin a palmitate, vitamin D3, active cultures with L acidophilus and B. bifidum

I would advise greek yogurt or cottage cheese and add truvia if you want it sweeter without the carbs/calories.

that is definitely a bad idea - don't do it anymore.

It completely changes the structure of the olive oil and is no longer an HDL.

From now on, make sure it doesn't reach the smoke point - but you will be fine =)
