silly question..

diet soda alright while on keto?
tbh i dont see why not, aslong as i dont overdue it, and still drink plenty of water....

Alright well since this is my first bulk I've been putting on weight pretty fast I already see some minor results two days in. But is there anything I can do to avoid getting fat while bulking, I'm doing a clean bulk followed a outline of the diet but rearranged to my preference. I was thinking cardio at the end of the workout?

Thanks so much by the way helped me cut significant weight now it's time to put on muscle weight :D

For some people yes, for some people no.
Iv seen on the keto forums that it can cause insulin responses in some people while in most it does not.

im currently 5'9-5'10 ~165 lbs i was tested at @ 12.1% bf (one of them things you hold out and type in your height/weight)
current lifts are 275 x 5 DL/220 x 5 Squat (attempting today)/185 x 5 Bench (attempting today) - these are after 3-4 sets of 5 reps of various lower weights (doing madcow 5x5 program)

anyway im definatelly an ectomorph i have been skinny my entire life always had a problem gaining weight until i started eating 3,000+ calories a day and doing heavy compound lifts
well my bf% has gone up a bit and ive developed a bit of love hands (nothing extremely seriously and im not bitching about it because i know it could be worse)

well id like to cut in a couple months , around the start of may...i am going to continue to bulk until then and get my numbers up & get more lean mass

well my question is how would i go about cutting? i want to achieve the following from my cut

- low bf % (obviously lol)
- maintian muscle mass & strength (although i know i might lose a bit)

i dont want to do keto because the restriction on foods is pretty tough

anyway what should i do as far as macros/cardio/training?

i was thinking of lowering my calories to about ~2300 (55p/30f/15c diet) while doing cardio 4 times a week

however i dont know how to do my training
would it be a bad idea if i were to continue doing heavy deads/squats/benchs/rows/oh press/chins/dips while having such few carbs in me?

im not really too sure how i should start this so im asking & doing research atm so i can start preparing but i wont start for 2 more months...

That's the exact one I use, it has a whole bunch of good vitamins and whatnot.
I do not use it as a meal replacement or anything, I still eat a good healthy breakfast, I just add the powder to a big glass of milk.
Also, if you say it to be good or decent, would it be good for both a bulk and a cut?


Hey there. Avoid that stuff. It's no good in general. Stick to whole foods and protein shakes. Avoid any instant breakfast products or powdered milk products.

Yes, although some people can get thrown out of ketosis by the citric acid. best bet is to use the keto strips time to time and make sure you're still in keto.

I use diet soda on keto myself, just never any more than 1-2 glasses a day.

To avoid getting fat on bulking, keep the diet clean, and keep your total calories over maintainable around 500. Don't go hog wild and eat 6,000 calories a day unless you are in the gym enough to compensate for that.

Also, don't bother with cardio on the bulk, a good workout is sufficient. if you see yourself getting fat, reduce your overall carb intake slightly to accommodate. Usually that's all it takes.
