Ah, you mean they're delusional? :D

Isn't Fight Club...a video?

It's a direct reference to the book. Going to fight club is the reason for working out

I just don't buy the "my entire life I've been told I can't" mentallity...  I mean sure there's some 4 year old somewhere getting beat on by his drunk stepdad or something, but I feel like a lot of this is manufactured motivation...

When you're not "Tall" you're told you are too short to play certain sports <- I fell in this category.

Just one example, because I don't care to share the details of my motivation.

sigh, it was a book before a movie, and I was just joking around referring to GOING to actual fight clubs as motivation. the book actually pokes at bodybuilding... going to the gym trying to look like men, as if looking like what a sculptor, judge, art director says, and shaving your body, oiling up, and posing is considered manly. Our generation doesn't know what it is to be a man. But everyone has different definitions of what manly is. I feel bad cuz probably don't read books and went way over bald head :(

anyways sorry about the spam
