so ive been reading this thread and people are asking alot about PWO meals. First im assuming you mean post workout?

well here is what i do

2 scoops of whey + 2 bananas OR 1 apple 5 minutes after workout

1 hour later i eat a solid meal with mass protein & complex carbs

amidoinitrite?

Sort of.

I would make a few changes. First of all, 2 bananas has WAY more sugar than 1 apple. You would want 2 bananas + 1 apple if you are going the entire fruit route. That would equal out to about 60-70g simple carbs for good PWO insulin spike. Make sure to take your creatine along with that insulin spike for optimal results.

does drinking whey shake before workout have the same effectiveness as post workout?

negative. It does, however, help fuel your aminos through the first 45 minutes of training - although I just recommend taking BCAA pre/intra/post workout regardless.

How does Diet Pop effect one's ability to cut weight?
I'm cutting now and I have a weakness for it, is it inhibiting my progress?
What would you recommend, I've been aiming for moderation

So I've hit a decent weight, 170 lbs @ ~12% BF (5' 8 :D ) and I think it's about time I cut down
So far, the diet I've come up with is
Meal 1: 3 eggs with olive oil + 1 piece whole grain toast + 1 large fruit
Meal 2: 1-2 scoops casein
Meal 3: 8-10 oz chicken breast/steak + 1 cup broccoli/green beans
Meal 4: 8-10 oz chicken breast/steak + 1 cup broccoli/green beans
Meal 5: 2 cans of tuna on a salad w/ some olive oil
Meal 6: 1 scoop casein

Post workout, I'm thinking of a large fruit + 2 scoops whey isolate.
Any suggestions? :o

it's not necessary to take in more than 60g IF you are doing a PWO meal an hour or two after. Hit the complex carbs then and stick to all simple for PWO with the shake.

glad to hear you're making good progress.

Awesome, thanks a lot! I'll try out the fruit puree for a little while.
I'm just trying to switch things up, been doing banana/waxy maize for quite a bit now.

Doing my next show Sept 24th :) Hoping for 1st in the Men's Novice division.

yes, definitely

thanks again

and two more questions:

how does lifting weights correlate with the release of endorphines (or is cardio more effective for this)

also: as a beginner, does is mean I got a good work out (yesterday I did chest) if when I was showering afterwards I could barely lift my arms?

or does this mean I overdid it?

Thanks

GVT is pretty good - give it a shot and let me know how it works out for you.

will it give me gains in size? or should i consider a program to up my strength first and the try hypertrophy type as GVT? how's this all size/strength thing work.. increasing strength first than expanding the muscle cells with hypertrophy or?
