You can't regress because of sleeves and a belt...Come on.

You cannot lift as heavy with no belt or sleeves as you can with. I regressed as in wanted to build up to that strength without the equipment, and after fixing my form. Had hip pain, couldn't squat to parallel without butt wink, among other bad habits. Was using the equipment to cover them up.

So basically you had bad form and you were injured but kept pushing. Your ego is what made you regress.

Yes, due to poor mobility and muscular imbalances and my ego. My TFL was overworking for my weak hamstrings so I focused on more glute/hamstring work and the hip pain has since gone. My mobility has also improved. I do not use my sleeves or a belt anymore, but once again I'm not training to be a powerlifter so I want to train in the same conditions I'd find myself in on the court or at the rink. However, if I was constantly going 90%+ I'd probably at least use my belt again.

so a guy i used to train with sometimes about 2 years ago started going to meets about a year ago and made a score of 420 wilks last saturday... he's just mind blowing. my legs were literally twice as big as theirs but i could barely squat 375 parallel when he could do a 405 deeper than parallel. this guy always blew my mind and now he just pulverized his last meet. didn't really know where to share this but i'm just so happy for him even if i barely talk to him anymore

420 is good. Where did he compete?
