Bought some of those compression knee braces on Amazon. Not sure if I actually need them but I looked it up and it doesn't really look like there's a disadvantage to using them and they'll make me look more like I belong at the gym.

You do not need knee sleeves. If anything you're just going to become dependent on them. When you are pushing bigger weights they will come in handy.

I just started throwing em on when I lift more than 275.

They feel so good.. Nice and warm :3

I used to wear them squatting 275+, then I realized I was using fucking sleeves and a belt just to hit 275+. So I regressed, ditched the gear and now I'm hitting 315 for reps raw, which is an improvement in itself.

Truth, I normally hit my first few working sets with no belt.. Usually 3 or 4 sets in, I’ll throw it on.

It’s definitely handicapped me though.

It depends for everyone though. I never go for a 1RM, a 3rm is the highest I will go. I'm also not training for powerlifting, I am training more for overall athleticism so I must of what I do won't allow me or require me to use knee sleeves or a belt.

I put my sleeves on before i even squat the bar, then i put my belt on for anything over 2 plates. ded srs
