Just got shipment of competition plates and a 55 lb squat bar to my gym. I’m so fucking siked to start pulling with non hex plates and squatting with a legit bar..

Nice @ the plates

Y the bar tho. Only non natties use a squat bar, and they use a mono lift with it. I’d recommend going for an Ohio power bar

I always believed that the harder the lift is, the better you’ll get.

Lifting with a longer, heavier bar obviously makes the lift harder.. So, fuck it.

And it’ll be awesome sauce when I’m squatting 700 lbs and theirs no whip “in like 15 years after a decade of Tren abuse”

Ya, I’m trying to talk them into getting the 55 lb plates too..

But either way, I’m siked to start pulling with decent equipment

The plates Will make deadlifting harder, squatting easier (imo)

I figured it wouldn’t affect squats.. And it would make dead’s easier.

Opposite boyo


Bumper plates out wide make the bar bend at the bottom of the squat, when it bends back the weight is temporarily lighter - enough to spring you out of the hole. That’s why u see Olympic lifters doing rediculous squats - cod an oly Bar whips and springs at the bottom of the squat

The same thing applies to deadlifts, oly plates extend out further making the bar bend more before leaving the ground - putting you in better leverage to lift the weight. Thin metal plates (with a stiff bar) will be the hardest
