Not really as much that, as I'd say mild narcissism is a tentative sine qua non for true success. You kind of have to literally see yourself in these high places/positions and strive to get there beyond it all. Someone with zero bits of narcissism wouldn't feel like they're meant to be there and likely wouldn't strive as far. Obviously this isn't all successful people, but easily a majority.
