i bought my gf a gift card to go at a spa scandinave and other things

the flaw in that is that most people in the retail business who aren't the manager need to meet a quota (ie a certain number of sales) or they will get fired. to meet this quota they'll tend to lie to you and try to make you buy the more expensive items in hopes that they will reach said quota.

so asking the sales associate for advice is sometimes a terrible idea

im not stupid either, ill notice if they always bring the most expensive stuff.
+ most place im going they dont have quota anyway.
