You should use a grip that's wider than your shoulders by quite a bit. Also the bar should be near the lower end of your sternum when it touches your chest. Other than that, it's hard to judge form when I can't see it :S

I don't think we have the same idea of "heavy".

4-5 reps to failure is training pretty "heavy" to me.

Then that's what I thought. We don't have the same meaning of "heavy".

By going heavy, I mean the actual heaviness of the weights. Not the volume of the workout.

heavy is relative to the person..
scott mendelson would think what you bench with is light weight.

I know that lol!

Blah how can I explain this?

Bones' max is 3xx, he went from 2xx to 1xx, so he used light weights. When I use 3xx its light weight and when power lifters use 5xx it's lightweight.

yeah but it is relative because benching that 1xx was as hard for me as it would be for you to do 3xx
relative the to reps, to the max, and to the persons level of training, so it is a VERY relative concept

Effort is a better term to talk about in this I think.

Not really considering the effort you had to make to lift the 185 in the last few sets.

I guess you just talk about the % of your max.

did back today with much more success. I did what I normally do 10x from my old split(10,10,8,8,6) and added a little weight every few reps. Did barbell rows wide grip overhand, barbell rows close grip underhand, and deadlifts , all 10x10 with an extra warm up set on each, 1 minute break between each set, total workout was like 1 hour long

Did you go to failure on most sets? If you didn't, it's not dramatic, it still works but if you're not going to follow my variations, you should at least stick to the original workout.

Is there any type of rows ( close grip, pronation grip, underhand grip) that target lats ?
