Tell me about it, it's a joke of a field of study.

No more health field for me, I haven't kept up with that field in a little while and it feels good to get away from it honestly.

Plans are to find a company I believe in and offer my skills :-). Possibly something in the budding legal cannabis industry :-o

Sounds good m9!

:o
both you and liron have stopped studying any biology for a while now
sad days :(
Getting into that area seems like a good idea though, it's only going to grow. Also like the pun lol

Lol this is unfortunately true
to be fair 50% of what you did know in these subjects is still quite a lot of material

alpha-7 nicotinic receptor agonist as a nootropic drug: GTS-21

This GTS-21 + recent studies on novel cognitive/memory enhancers such as various potent AMPAkines, NSI-189 for robust neurogenesis, different peptides like cerebrolysin/P21 (P21 is an optimized version), etc are starting to come to fruition. Pretty cool.
Big ground in the field of modulating neurochemistry in very favorable ways

I'm just gonna post up and keep updated for many more years though, then perhaps jump on later on when they're fully optimized (may be quite far down the line)
- then again... my memory hasn't failed me yet, so maybe I shouldn't even try to modulate it so fiercely. *sigh* that conflict.

Very informative. Tracked so I can read on a few topics every now and then. Thanks for this.

"The Beneficial Effects of Strength Exercise on Hippocampal Cell Proliferation and Apoptotic Signalling is Impaired by Anabolic Androgenic Steroids"

http://www.psyneuen-journal.com/article/S0306-4530(14)00315-1/fulltext

I'm not saying this for certain, but it may be due to pregnenlone production being inhibited via exogenous hormonal use. Pregnenolone administration can increase neurogenesis and memory/cognitive function and plays a very integral role in modulating the NMDA receptors positively. This is surmise at this point, but it most likely plays a role here.
It's also interesting to note that other studies have noted that testosterone has a brain protective and enhancing effect (such as antidepressant action), as well as increases spine density in the hippocampus. The effects seem to be more centered around: too low (hypogonadism) or too high test (exogenous administration) is what induces deleterious effects. Even in the case of the latter, however, if you administered pregnenolone (and maybe a few other kinks I'm not thinking of right now) it may ameliorate the negative effect.

"Effects of a group-based step aerobics training on sleep quality and melatonin levels in sleep-impaired postmenopausal women."

So exercise apparently increases melatonin synthesis.. that may underlie part of the amazing benefits from exercise + sleep quality amelioration
Also not sure why it's increased from aerobics though.. perhaps a mixture of increased norepi signaling + increased blood/oxygen flow to the brain during exercise? Dunno.
