truth of the matter is, if your can workout back or legs twice a week, your workouts suck, for lack of a better word.

Tear, I honestly disagree with that 100%. If you can't hit something AT LEAST twice in a week, then your GPP is probably shit. If it burdens your CNS that much, then there's something wrong. Obviously you can't expect to do a 1RM every week, though, that's just stupid.

after a leg day, or back day, im sore for at least 3-4 days (when squatting heavy and deadlifting heavy)
allow yourself anywhere from 24-48 hours after your doms disappears, and you got yourself once a week.

again, your cns is something thats very hard to tell if its being stressed, or is okay.. no one will ever really know, you have to learn how to feel your body
but if you go in and pull or squat your heart out, as heavy as you can, with accessories .. i honestly dont think you should be able to do that twice a week..

and even if you feel like tip top shape 2 -3 days after, im willing to bet your cns still hasnt recovered fully, ergo stressing it even further.

You STILL feel DOMs after training for this long? Only since I've switched to Sheiko have I felt DOMs, and just because you're a little sore, it doesn't mean you can't lift again. Btw, haven't you beenl ifting in the higher rep ranges lately? That could explain the DOMs.

Why would anyone EVER squat or pull as hard as they can? Lifting isn't something you do at maximal weights every time you're in there. People undermine the CNS far too much, which is why people think you should deload every 5-8 weeks. You said it yourself, you should be able to feel it out yourself. Most people are going to feel different on most programs.

Driving your CNS into the ground takes a LONG time, man. Unless you're lifting very frequently with extremely high intensity, you're probably not going to OVERREACH (not overtrain) for a good amount of time. Once more, it comes down to GPP, how well trained said person is, etc. Obviously if your GPP is shit, you're not going to be able to train as frequently with a higher intensity.

Dom, I don't even know why you post if you have nothing productive to say? I'm having a discussion with Tear. Lifting is a science, but there are so many angles on it that there would be no point in asking for "sources". When it comes to nutrition, you can bet your ass I'll be asking for sources, because there's not 500 ways to do something when it comes to eating.

to dead or squat with sore muscles isnt the best idea though,
just because your experiencing doesnt necessary mean you cant lift, but if your in the gym for 1.5 hours 6 days a week, chances are itll be more beneficial to rest.

but i agree with what i said earlier,
when i dead, or when i train regardless.. i train to one up myself each week, whether its .5 pounds or 2.5 pounds or 5-10 pounds etc, i always one up myself, until i stall, or plateau.. than i switch things up.
thats how i progress.

so yes, if im squatting or deadding, and this week i only managed to do 410 for 4, next week im gonna do it for 5, then the week after im going to try 420, etc.
i train to better myself each and every week.

Tear dude I know that you're pretty experienced in this, but hey, everyone is different. And assuming that your training must suck just because you can do it twice per week, well... A lot of Mr Olympia winners trained twice per week. Then, they trained like shit?
I need HUGE amount of work to grow, and no, I don't get tired, and no, I don't get sore. Never. And believe me, I train to my maximum (not in the sense that I max, but in the sense that I use very little resting time between sets, etc).
Whether it's just because I've trained enough throughout my life or because of whatever other reason, I fairly don't know. But I know that two years ago, when I had time and used to hit leg twice a week, they started to grow. And when 2 months ago I was squatting and deadlifting three times a week, I started to gain strength like crazy (sadly it didn't apply as well to muscle mass).

tl;dr assuming that what works for you works for everyone else is not pretty right.

Not training to your potntial then bro. Just saying. If you're busting your ass through your sets and are barely getting you're final set goals then you're gonna be sore. I've been training deads and squats lately and it takes almost the full week to get me back to feeling normal. I do a similar method as tear and always increase by something each week whether that be a rep or added weight.

Well, I don't. And don't tell me I can train harder because I go usually for a weight I can rep 5 times, which I rep like 4 or 5 times and then drop because I can't do any more. So I'm not lazing around, I can assure you. I Squat and Deadlift 5 sets of 5 reps on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (well, I used to do it this way, not now) and I was never sore. So don't assume that your body works the same way mine does  Geez.
